Tommos World of Racing

It looks like the stars and stripes of the USA will be flying high in the UAE after the richest race in the World the 10,000,000 US dollars to the winner Dubai World Cup on Saturday night but will it be California Chrome or Frosted??!!

Both top class colts come into the race on a high after winning their respective trials in effortless fashion and although it's going to be close I believe Frosted will win for Godolphin!
Jockey William Buick will be wearing the ramous all blue colours and although the horse is trained in america by Keiran McClaughlin he is owned by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum and there would be no better owner to win it because it was HH who came up with the idea of running and staging the world's richest race in Dubai all those years ago.
Cigar romped away with the very first running and since then it has produced some outstanding contests but this year's race looks one of the best ever staged because it brings together the best two horses in the world!
California Chrome is going to be very very difficult to beat but the reason I like Frosted is that his trainer Keiran McClaughlin has won the race before  - he sent out Invasor to win it in 2007 - and of course Keiran used to train in Dubai so he knows the local scene well!
The sand surface which is virtually the same as the american racing surfaces gives the american horses a slight advantage and they should fight out what should be a tremendous finish!
William Buick could be in for a very good night because last year's Dubai World Cup winning jockey also takes the mount on Tryster for Godolphin and he should win the Dubai Turf!
Tryster has been a revelation this season in Meydan because although he used to be thought of as a dirt horse he has improved considerably for his switch to turf and although Intilaaq who I saw work well under the floodlights at Chelmsford City in the UK a couple of weeks ago could pose a threat Tryster looks the one to be on.
Marking could be another to make it to the winners enclosure for Godolphin because he looks set to run a massive race in the Godolphin Mile.
Like Frosted he is also trained by Keiran McClaughlin in the USA but has been in Dubai for the past couple of months and showed how good he is by powering away to a comfortable success at Meydan last time out and he can come home in front under James Doyle!
Polar River could be the star of the night if as I expect she keeps her unbeaten record intact in the UAE Derby.
She has powered away to success after success this season and although her rivals got a bit closer to her last time out I heard she may have come into season during that race so jockey Pat Dobbs wasn't hard on her.
Trained by american born but dubai based Doug Watson who himself was a former assistant trainer to Keiren McClaughlin the filly is taking on the colts for the first time but I believe she is the best in the business and can make it ladies first on saturday night!
The Al Quoz Sprint looks the most competitive race of the whole night and it has attracted equine flying machines from all over the world but I give a great chance to Sir Maximilion who won well at the track last time out.
Trained by Ian Williams he is the only trainer to have sent out a winner at every racecourse in the UK and last week at the Cheltenham Festival - the world championships of National Hunt Racing- he sent out Ballyalton to win under the ownership of one of the world's top golfers Lee Westwood!
The Kahayla Classic which gets Dubai World Cup night off and running is one of my favourite races of the whole year as it brings together the very best pure bred arabians and this year's race looks hot, hot, hot!
Handesa impressed me immensely with the way he won at Meydan last time out and he can get the night off to a winning start under top jockey Paul Hanagan who will be wearing the famous blue and white colours of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin rashid al Maktoum!
